This Week’s #StayInTrust
I have a little #stayintrust story about finances. This past month I have been worried about my student loans. I'm on an income-based repayment and my payments for this year were recalculated to be $800 per month more than I was paying last year. I was so scared about how I would come up with that money. I tried calling the borrower, and they couldn't help me. They told me to try resubmitting the information, but nothing seemed to help.
I was heavy in lack mentality when everything hit. I am lucky to be a and physician and still have more than enough work, but my childhood programming of lack kept showing up.
I started doing the free Quarantine RoadMap around Fear and listening to Supported again from the beginning. After listening to Action Steps (Episode 4) I saw an opportunity to help others on Instagram by offering to buy someone a pizza. I thought I could definitely afford to help out another person with one pizza. I left my intention and I received 8 replies. After checking my bank account, I was able to send some money to each of these people without being short this month. They were all incredibly grateful, and it felt really good to be able to share.
Today I went to check the status of my loan, and because of the CARES Act, I won't owe any payments until October! This gives me plenty of time to get my finances in order and to renegotiate my payments. I'm so happy for this work! #StayInTrust
